Kersey Work Jacket
The 12oz Kersey Work Jacket in Indigo/Black, on the other hand, offers a more traditional aesthetic, inspired by 1950s and ‘60s mechanic jackets. Constructed from tightly woven Japanese Kersey fabric, it features a unique indigo and black colorway that will gradually fade with wear, revealing a textured, ridged twill weave. The jacket’s practical details, such as action-pleated sleeves and reinforced triple-needle stitching, ensure comfort and durability, while the tailored fit enhances its modern appeal.
Kurashikizome Work Jacket
Iron Heart’s new Kurashikizome® Twill Work Jackets in beige and black reflect a deep respect for classic workwear styles while embracing contemporary fabric technology. Crafted from 12oz Japanese chino twill made from 100% organic cotton, these jackets incorporate the eco-friendly Kurashikizome® dyeing process, ensuring both sustainability and lasting colour retention. The process prevents any fading over time, allowing the jackets to retain their original tone, even as the fabric itself ages with wear.
The centerpiece of our new delivery is the 21oz Selvedge Denim Modified Type III Jacket in Superblack, which showcases Iron Heart’s commitment to craftsmanship and their ability to innovate. Made from a heavyweight 21oz Japanese selvedge denim, this jacket features a unique “Superblack Fades to Grey” design.
The sulphur-dyed warp gradually fades to grey with wear, while the reactive-dyed weft maintains its deep black hue, resulting in high-contrast fading that is distinct to this fabric.
What truly sets this jacket apart, however, is its backstory. Originally, Iron Heart planned to debut a new design for their Type III jacket, based on the fit of their IH-526PJ model. However, due to a production mix-up, they inadvertently re-issued their original Superblack Type III jacket from 2016.
This mistake, though unintentional, proved to be a “happy accident” as the jacket’s fit—a blend of a fuller body and arm fit, reminiscent of vintage trucker styles—struck a chord with fans of classic, boxier silhouettes.
The modified Type III cut, with its slightly longer body and fuller fit, draws inspiration from early Levi’s Type III jackets and Lee Storm Rider jackets, offering a nod to a bygone era while still appealing to modern sensibilities.
This unique fit, paired with the high-quality denim and practical features such as hand-warmer pockets and internal storage, has made this jacket a standout. While it wasn’t the original intent of the design, it provides a distinctive alternative for those who appreciate vintage workwear aesthetics with a contemporary twist.
5oz Indigo Dobby Selvedge Western Shirt
Iron Heart’s 5oz Indigo Dobby Selvedge Western Shirt is made from indigo-dyed selvedge dobby cloth, offering a lightweight yet durable option that is ideal for year-round wear. Its classic Western styling, including flap patch pockets, snap fastenings, and yokes, is complemented by the indigo-dyed fabric, which will develop a unique fade over time.
14oz Herringbone CPO Western Shirt
The 14oz Herringbone CPO Western Shirt in Black is another standout, constructed from a heavy-duty 14oz herringbone fabric.
